Cinnamon Street Public Enquiry

The public enquiry was officially closed on Friday 12th January following a site visit the day previous to Cinnamon Street, Clegg Street and Clave Street.
It lasted for 7 days at Mulberry Place from December 12-21. Each side had a barrister and experts on transport, heritage, daylight and sunlight and a planning consultant each. The estimated cost is around £100,000, which is the average cost of a full scale public planning enquiry. A decision will be published on February 19.
A planning enquiry into the decision to refuse consent for a development in Whitechapel – to demolish the old nurses home and other similar buildings and replace with 12 new buildings including a 90 metre tower – had been heard at Mulberry Place a week earlier than the Cinnamon Street appeal; there are at least 3 more appeals to be heard over the next few months.
