On Monday May 22 from 6.30 onwards there will be an overview of the masterplan for King Edward Memorial Park at the Shadwell Centre on the Highway. Staff from Tideway and Tower Hamlets Council will be available from 6.30 before a presentation at 7pm.
It’s important that as many people as possible look at the plans for the park and make their feelings known as it will be probably be the last chance to have any say over this beautiful park.
This year the Wapping Summer Shindig will be on Saturday July 15. Stage activities start at 12 noon.
Ray Newton’s history walk will start at 10.30, starting place as yet to be confirmed
As always we will have a packed programme and will post very soon..
If anyone wants to get involved then please email us turksheadcharity@gmail.com
On Sunday June 18 we will be celebrating the Great Get Together in honour of Wapping resident Jo Cox who was murdered last year. The nationwide event which has been organised by Jo’s husband Brendan is an opportunity for people to come together and celebrate community.
Our event will be in Wapping Gardens, next to the Turk’s Head Cafe from 4-6pm. Bring your own food or enjoy tea and cake with us!
